Dodge City A’s Clinches Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Colorado Springs Cage Rats

The Dodge City A’s took the lead late in the game in a 15-6 victory over the Colorado Springs CageRats on Thursday. The game was tied at four with the A’s batting in the top of the sixth when Caleb Bergman drew a walk, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, the CageRats tied things up at four. Jimmy Fafiski doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. The A’s took the lead for good with 11 runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Bergman drew a walk, scoring one run, Cooper Schneider singled, scoring one run, Gamster singled, scoring two runs, Nolan Williams singled, scoring one run, Dawson Stutz singled, scoring two runs, Jordan Rodriguez singled, scoring one run, Bergman singled, scoring two runs, and Schneider lined out, driving in a run.

Caleb Jameson took the win for the A’s. The southpaw allowed eight hits and four runs over five innings, striking out two and walking one. Taylor Pendley and Juan Rivera entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Jacob Fried took the loss for the CageRats. The bulldog lasted four innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out two.
