Hays Larks Takes High-Scoring Game From Dodge City A’s, 10-6

Both pitching staffs had their hands full on Sunday in a high-scoring affair where the Hays Larks bested the Dodge City A’s, 10-6. The A’s fired up the offense in the first inning, when Caleb Bergman doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. The Larks pulled away for good with six runs in the third inning. The Larks saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Pendergrass, Ceccoli, and Bryson Evans each managed multiple hits for the Larks.

Kam Walton started the game for the Larks, allowing two hits and three runs over three innings, striking out five. Tyler Schott earned the victory in relief for the Larks, surrendering one run on three hits over three innings, striking out four and walking one. Aaron Calhoun and Jett Lodes entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Peyton Walters took the loss for the A’s. The bulldog went two and a third innings, allowing six runs on two hits and striking out three.
