Hays Larks Blows Out Dodge City A’s

The Hays Larks had all cylinders firing on offense Saturday, winning big over Dodge City A’s 9-3. The A’s took an early lead in the second inning but the Larks took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. The Larks notched three more runs in the fifth inning. Tyler LaRue had an RBI home run in the inning to lead the run scoring.

Colby Langford started the game for the Larks. The lefty lasted three innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out three. Preston Tabor got the win for the Larks. He allowed zero runs on zero hits over two innings, striking out three and walking zero. Jose Velasquez, Dayne Pengelly, and Luuk Ter Beek all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Yambe Fuga took the loss for the A’s. The righthander surrendered seven runs on nine hits over six innings, striking out four and walking one.

The Larks tallied two home runs on the day. LaRue had a homer in the fifth inning. Garret Gruell went yard in the seventh inning. Overall, the Larks racked up 11 hits. Ebbing, Luis Garcia, Damian Ruiz, and Gruell all collected multiple hits.
